I know what you’re thinking. “I have to have more coaching clients before I’ll be ready for a TED Talk” “I have to have more paid speaking gigs under my belt” “I’m waiting for my book to be published” It’s all bullshit. Stop it.
Do you think the 4.5 million people who have watched this 12-year-old’s TED Talk care that he’s not Mark Zuckerberg? He’s 12. How long do you think he’s been making apps for? Think you need to have done a certain number of speaking gigs first? The TED website specifically says that “[the] purpose is to give a platform to those who don’t often have one.” You’re telling yourself “no” before giving anyone else the chance to tell you “yes”.
